Hacker Gondolier vintage portable valve record player 1960's - all working, new cartridge in Rochester, Northumberland for sale

Hacker Gondolier manufactured in the late 60's. If you've searched specifically for this particular type of portable record player then you'll probably already know that it was considered to be the best machine of its type at the time. There is a whole Hacker Gondolier subculture on the web dedicated to the celebration, restoration and worship of these excellent valve record players. I have two of them, and I'm selling this one simply because the other one is in slightly better condition, cosmetically speaking. Everything works, no crackles or distortion from the amp and speakers, and it has a new cartridge and stylus. As with all equipment of this vintage it would probably benefit from a service from a vintage hifi technician. I think the turntable is running about a quarter of semitone too slow, but you'd have to have very good ears to spot it... It can be used and enjoyed now. The turntable is the Garrard 2025TC auto-changer. It's very heavy so local pickup only unless you're prepared to take the risk with a courier.
